The Lighter Side of Hell

Since I’ve been talking about Hell a fair amount lately, and since not everyone reads my novel, here’s another post for today. Something that will I hope give at least a few people a chuckle.

In Heaven:

The cooks are French,
The policemen are English,
The mechanics are German,
The lovers are Italian,
The bankers are Swiss.

In Hell:

The cooks are English,
The policemen are German,
The mechanics are French,
The lovers are Swiss,
The bankers are Italian.

If so, they might have gone there on purpose figuring that purgatory was better than being somewhere where there’s too many white folks about.

Yeah, the lists are definitely Eurocentric in terms of ethnicity but its safer to deal in cultural stereotypes without getting myself in serious hot water with the missus if I keep it limited to mostly white-themed groups.

Deacon Blue is the blogging persona of editor and writer Jeffrey Bouley. The opinions of Jeff himself on this blog, and those expressed as Deacon Blue, in NO WAY should be construed as the opinions of anyone with whom he has worked, currently works, or will work with in the future. They are personal opinions and views, and are sometimes, frankly, expressed in more outrageous terms than I truly feel most days.
