Getting It Together

Just a quick post tonight. I’m dealing with stuff right now. How to be a better parent. A house full of people under varying levels of assault by a virus. The future (if any) of my career. Reconnecting with Mrs. Blue in a meaningful way that doesn’t involve just co-parenthood. What to do with my life in the event my career doesn’t have a future.

So, my mental energies aren’t where they should be for a real post. Instead, let me share the wisdom of another, something that I think pertains to many of my own personal travails right now:

Perseverance is more prevailing than violence; and many things which cannot be overcome when they are together, yield themselves up when taken little by little. – Plutarch

And I’ll just mash that together with some wisdom from the Bible, courtesy of James—”Faith without works is dead, being alone.”—and we’ll call that my mission statement for getting shit back on track in life.

Your prayers are welcome. If you don’t have prayers, I’ll take your psychic well-wishings (or any leads you might have on good freelance writing or editing opportunities).

    Your prayers are welcome.

I don’t have good freelance writing or editing opportunities, but what I do have (my prayers), you’re more than welcome to.

I bow to the divine that dwells within you.

Deacon – just use your heart and love the one’s your with – search that out more and more. I am hoping the best for you and your situation right now – life can be quite a handful at times (I am also getting my share of this).

I know life is tough sometimes – things become a little lulled and uncertain – but your right – action is important in the process. Also, and I know you do, process it all in a healthy way that seeks resolve and solutions…your a good person – I can tell that about you – and I think all the things you need are within you to do. I want to encourage you to be the best in the situation you can be.

    Thanks to both of you.

Of course, these troubled times (economically speaking) do a lot to magnify anything else that’s already wrong in life.

The hard part is keeping our eyes where they need to be, and following up on the actions and behaviors that we need to, without getting caught up in sorrow, fear, self-pity, etc.

If you lived closer, I’d give you a free massage at our clinic. Good luck, even I will pray for you.

LOL…TitforTat…if I lived closer, I’d probably try to convince you to give that free massage to my wife instead. She actually needs it more than I do.

Deacon Blue is the blogging persona of editor and writer Jeffrey Bouley. The opinions of Jeff himself on this blog, and those expressed as Deacon Blue, in NO WAY should be construed as the opinions of anyone with whom he has worked, currently works, or will work with in the future. They are personal opinions and views, and are sometimes, frankly, expressed in more outrageous terms than I truly feel most days.
