(Snack) Chip On My Shoulder

So, I’m in kind of an uninspired period right now. No spiritual topics are really eating at me right now. My novel will continue again soon but I need another day or two on that to sort out what needs to happen next. I haven’t been able to coax the Hummus Idol out of the transdimensional chasm he’s hidden himself in to keep from posting. Miz Pink is off trying to have Jon Stewart’s baby (while still nursing one).

So, I’ve kind of decided that I’m in an “anything goes” mode right now. Just whatever the hell comes to mind, and however long or short it needs to be, even if it’s just a Twitter-sized kind of post.

And right now, I’m just feeling irritated about Cheetos.

Yeah, the orange cheesy snack food.

Today, I noticed in the store bags of BBQ Cheddar Cheetos.

Look, I’m a snack food fan. I love new flavors of chips and such. Exotic ones, even. But certain things do not seem, to me, to go together.

BBQ flavor in a Cheetos bag is one of them. Also, pizza or buffalo wing flavors in Doritos. And I remember some test mystery flavor Doritos had recently that clearly was intended to be a Big Mac flavor or something like it. For pity’s sake, they’re tortilla chips. At least pretend to be following some kind of latino food theme when you pick the flavors.

While I love creativity, there is limited room on the shelves. If you want to clog them up, at least bring back the damn Cajun Spice Ruffles that I’ve been missing for 15 years or more since they were discontinued.

(And no, I don’t have the slightest idea who the woman in the photo is, nor where the photo came from originally. But it does make the mind reel, doesn’t it?)

Well all things considered, I think the pic may have inspired me to eat some Cheetos. Who knows, maybe they discovered a new “flavour”. 😉

If I were in my erotica writing persona (but that’s a whole other blog entirely…and a whole different screen name), I’d have so many comments to make right now.

So I will merely say, when women and nudity are involved, generally things that are puffy, crunchy or bright orange should probably be avoided.

So Deacon, after about a year or so of passionate dialogue with you, when do I get the invite to your “other” blog. 🙂

Well, here’s the thing. Giving out THAT info, even by private invite, is simply too volatile. That blog just reveals way too much about my interests. I wouldn’t want people know a lot of things that can be gleaned about me there (nothing illegal nor even immoral by most societal standards…just too wide-ranging and intense)…nor would people here likely WANT to know. So, I have to have mad levels of trust in a person (hard to earn that kind of trust online from me) to reveal that. Which is why there is only one person to whom I’ve revealed it around here (there are maybe one or two others I would reveal that info to, but they haven’t asked).

However, that said, I am finding that I am quite unexpectedly skilled in the erotica writing department, as I’m getting kudos from women (some of them erotica writers themselves) as well as men. So, given that I’m already on the “blue” end of things, I am considering a tamer locale for less personally revealing erotica from time to time, to which I will link from here.

But more on that later, in its own blog post in the coming days.

    BBQ Cheetos sound wonderful.

Like the Elmer’s chee wees we have down my way.

And never would I cast dispersions on those who like the idea of such a flavor of Cheetos (I myself like Flaming Hot Cheetos, and many would cry “foul”…and possibly accuse me of hypocrisy…because of that). However, I continue to object to the flavor on purely philosophical grounds. 😉

Admittedly, though, while the Cheetos formed this post’s inspiration, it’s really the buffalo wing and blue cheese Doritos and the pizza flavored Doritos that truly get my goat. And while I think the Spicy & Sweet Doritos taste good, I have to object to them as well for being way too Asian to be a tortilla chip flavor (though as a Ruffle or Lays, I would have no problem with them).

I’m a complex and judgmental guy when it comes to snack food company marketing choices. 😛

My exotic ones? Hell no! 😉

I have people who read this blog that I see in day-to-day life and/or whom I do work with on a monthly basis. My identity being linked to that other one would be uncomfortably embarrassing for all involved. LOL
