Zombie Apocalypse Planning Mode Engaged

The longer that the unhinged and sociopathic people are allowed to set the tone and influence the agenda of the modern Republican Party, the more often I look at buildings and facilities with an eye toward how well they might shelter and protect my family and friends when civilization collapses.

Because with people like Michele Bachmann, Scott Walker, Glenn Beck, Paul LePage, Sean Hannity, Sarah Palin and Rand Paul (just to name a small handful) in positions of authority and influence, the more I see everything ending in a zombie apocalypse, super-flu plague, nuclear winter, general decline into tribal anarchy or something else along those lines.

I believe that Deacon believes the Republican Party and Republican media is leading this country down the tubes. I concur with his feeling.

The Republicans are doing their level best to make this a country of Elites (1%) and Minimum Wage earners (99%) with no Medicare, no Social Security, no social safety net for anybody and no jobs with any kind of security. Throw all the crazies out in the road and kill anybody who gets out of line. Our future is looking pretty dim with the Republicans around doing their dirty work.

TWOM pretty much has it on the money.

While the Democrats have a lot of things they do wrong, too, the current direction of the Republican Party, particularly in the past decade or two (and especially since Obama was elected) has been to destroy.

They are, I think, willing to tear everything down. I don’t think the party would care if the entire country collapsed or they unleashed literal or metaphorical destruction as long as the rich stay safe and wealthy and the middle class is utterly removed (and it’s already crippled, frankly) to make a larger indentured working class.

Also, probably a good time to remind everyone of the figures in this earlier and also brief blog post I did some months back:

    https://holyhell.wordpress.com/2010/11/07/5750/

Problem is that the rich are doing more and more to withhold money from getting to the people who truly do the work of producing wealth (the workers) and then they hoard it. The rich don’t do much spending. For the economy to thrive, people need money, but they have less and less thanks to rising health insurance costs, cuts to workplace benefits, etc. And yet they are asked to do more and more for their companies while not be rewarded (thought the upper management always is, even in times of failure).

Thing is, the rich don’t care if people are even able to shop at Wal-Mart. Most of them would be happy to see people beholden to companies. Now, with child labor laws being rolled back (as is happening in my current state of residence) and other such things, we’re getting dangerously close to losing any worker’s rights and to having a return to the days of the company towns and company stores that oppressed people in the past.

It seems that it’s getting close to a time to form a revolution and turn out the tyrants

Old Thomas Jefferson was a wise old soul:

“Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms (of government) those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny”

    and:

“Dissent is the highest form of patriotism”

And of course he spoke out about the need for a revolution every now and then.

For a very short time I thought the tea party was going to do something…and then I found out that they were bankrolled by the Koch brothers in New York. Turns out they are sell-outs and really don’t care about the common good that this country used to be all about. Their agenda is the “elite 1%’s” agenda…fools all.
